Symposium on Innovation and Automation in Remanufacturing

The Environmental Campus Birkenfeld of the University Trier (Germany) will hold its annual Symposium on Innovation and Automation in Remanufacturing on February 20 and 21. Here, you will be able to discuss key issues affecting the future of our remanufacturing industry.

You will have the opportunity to attend as many as 15 presentations and demonstrations focusing on topics such as digitalisation, automation, new business models, reverse engineering, reman and artificial intelligence, market trends, product passports and reman processes.

The event will be organised and led by Professor Matthias Vette-Steinkamp and his team of scientific researchers. During the past three years they have organised 13 highly successful offline symposiums but this year they have decided to make it an in-person event.

You will have the opportunity to meet many remanufacturing experts and researchers as well as the real pioneers of reman technology, such as Rolf Steinhilper.  He is already a legend in the field and has been an innovator in  remanufacturing for more than five decades. Rolf is a highly motivated enthusiast of our technology. He will address the meeting as a keynote speaker, together with another reman pioneer, Carsten Bücker, who will be speaking specifically about remanufacturing and the circular economy. Carsten is the founder of many companies in our sector. Through an international aftersales organisation, he offers his clients product-specific strategies.  You will also have the opportunity to engage with Fernand Weiland, a well-known friend of reman who has spent many years of his professional career in the industry. Fernand was also a longtime chair of the European Automotive Parts Remanufacturer Association (APRA).

If you would like to attend the symposium, please visit  https://www.remanufacturing.academy  to register. We look forward to meeting you.

For those in the Americas and Asia who will not be able to attend, we will be organising specially selected online sections. If you are interested, please contact: Florian Schäfer f.schaefer@umwelt-campus.de
